Placing minecraft:log2 with invalid data values crashes the placer

When attempting to place the item 'log2:3', the placer's game crashes. However, the server will not crash - it logs an error message and doesn't place the block. Other players nearby won't crash either.

This may be a duplicate of MC-30484, however the item ID I'm reporting doesn't crash your game when in your inventory, and the world doesn't remain corrupted.
