Trees won't appear in host's computer

Preset world of air (essentially void preset on 15w37a) Dark Oak Trees won't show as grown on host machine during published single player world. Placing a block where tree should be causes proper tree block to appear.

Steps to Reproduce:
Publish a world from single player.
Have someone join game.
Plant dark oak saplings (2x2) and use bone meal.
Blocks won't update to show tree although you can no longer pass through where they should be.
