Arrows blocked by shield appear first above the player and then in front

The bug

When you block an Arrow that hits you right above your head with a shield, the Arrow sometimes keeps flying for some ticks until it appears in front of the player.
This seems to happen more often when the player is looking down.

How to reproduce

Have the following command running on a slow clock and block with a shield

/execute @p ~ ~ ~ /summon Arrow ~7 ~2 ~ {Motion:[-1d,0.15d,0d]}
