Command block Repeat function not working

When setting a command block to have a command to repeat which the command block as always active, the command block does not repeat the command imputed. I tried this with /kill, /tp and /time set , none of which worked.

To reproduce:
1. place a command block set it to always active and repeat
2. Enter a command into the command block.
3. Press done
