Barriers in second hand do not trigger the particle

I've been messing with things lately and I needed to see barriers while placing armostands. I put the barrier in the offhand, second hand or whatever and it did not work. There were not particles in the barriers. In the image you can see that I am looking at a barrier by the f3 screen on the right, and you can see in my offhand (left) that I have a barrier.
