Every time I go on Minecraft, and try and go on Singleplayer or Mulitplayer, or anything it keeps saying: Not Responding, in the top left corner (right by the version of Minecraft i have, 1.8.8) and it won't let me play Minecraft!

I don't remember what i did to make my Minecraft keep saying, Not Responding, all i want is to be able to play Minecraft but I don't know what to do to fix, so please help me!
