Cannot set down blocks

Put the summary of the bug you're having here

What I expected to happen was...:
I would set down a dark oak plank
(EDIT: THIS SEEMS TO WORK WITH ALL BLOCKS WITH NO EXCEPTION)

What actually happened was...:
it looked like it did for a half second, but quickly disappeared

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Made dark oak planks in the inventory crafting table (May / may not be necessary)
2. They were put into inventory, not the hotbar (necessary)
3. (this is all in survival) I picked an empty slot in the hotbar, and middle mouse clicked an already set down dark oak plank.
4. dark oak appeared in the hotbar as normal, but as I said, cannot be placed AND takes the number of dark oak planks down.
(NOTE: Dark oak is the only kind of block tested, this my be a glitch for all blocks)
