Villagers can turn into baby zombie villagers when killed

I put a few default zombies in a cage with a Priest Villager.
I thought i would be getting the new zombie Priest Villager, but instead I got the baby version of it.

Steps to reproduce:
put a few zombies in a cage with a villager
wait

This doesn't happen with baby villagers, they always turn into baby zombie villagers.
