Ender Dragon will often play Fireball sound without firing one off

Ever since the first 1.9 Snapshot, the Ender Dragon will often make the sound that it is firing off an acid charge without actually firing one. This makes the fight very confusing, as I don't know if a charge is actually heading my way or not.
