Enchanted Shields have no visual effect

When I enchanted my shield with Unbreaking 3 (/enchant @p unbreaking 3 for those wondering how to enchant a shield), there was no glossy effect on the shield to indicate that it had been enchanted. The effect was on the shield, but not visually glossy like other enchanted items.
