Snow and rain have weird division styles

This most likely is not a bug. I did go to the Mojang Support Twitter, however, and they sent me here, so I decided to ask this here. When crossing between biomes, the rain and snow is plainly divided, and I think it should be smoothed out somehow. Hopefully for 1.9. I'm playing 1.8.8, but I think this is in all applicable versions.
