Boat puts armor on

I was trying to test the boat glitch, so when i put the boat down in survival, it duplicated all the armor I had and put it on. Surprisingly, it didn;t work for the dragon head i had in my inventory. I had feather fallling boots which would negate the boat's fall damage.
