type=! not working

The command I used is this:
/execute @e[rm=1,r=9,type=!ArmorStand] ~ ~ ~ summon LightningBolt ~ ~ ~

Whenever I run the command it throws the error "That entity cannot be found".
However, if I remove the type=!ArmorStand part it works fine.
