Particle-specific Rendering Glitch with largeexplode/hugeexplosion

I was playing a game of MineStrike and noticed this bug while running around and spamming the F5 key. Basically, while in the front-F5 mode, or just press F5 twice, hugeexplosion particles are not rendered. See the video below for a view of the bug on YouTube.

ADDON: I tested largeexplode, it doesn't render, but explode does work on F5.

15w44b update: Particles are rendered, but flash (are visible on and off, high frequency)
