Minecraft Crashes for what reason!

Put the summary of the bug you're having here every time I go to play in multiplayer mode and pick a server and click on it, it loads up everything around me and waits about 5-20 seconds before it crashes. It started happening around April and now keeps doing it! I see youtubers play minecraft videos but does it only happen on windows 8 (that's my compete)? also when it crashes it turns white and say "java(tm) platform se has stopped"!
