Crafting table not working

Just purchased and downloaded Minecraft after upgrading my HP Pavilion to Windows 10. After starting the game the I created several crafting tables and tried each one, and to no avail was I able to get the 3X3 crafting area I can not make basic tools to even get the game started.

I put a ticket one other time and was told "This is for Console versions only". I responded with a request to point me in the right direction and did not get a response. If this is still not the right Support page I apologize and simply ask for a direction to go so I can get my problem resolved.
