Arrows Lose Particle Effects

When I fire a potion arrow and unload it or it goes out of render distance the particles of the arrow look normal at first when I approach it but then a the particles suddenly burst out and then they stop altogether. Even when I relog the particles dont come back. Sometimes you never even see the burst of particles. The worst thing about this bug is that when I "pick up" the arrow I get no arrow in return.

How to replicate:
Shoot potion arrow and go far enough away so that it visually unloads.
Observe the burst and/or lack of particles.
Try to pick up the arrow with no avail.
