Shulker Orbs Bundling And Staying Together

I lined up a bunch of Shulkers and went into survival mode. This made them mad and they were shooting everywhere. They started hitting each other and by the time I re-spawned half of them were dead but I noticed a mass of orbs in the center of one. The Shulker died off but here is an image of what it looked like after.
