Mobs become invisible at a certain hight

type "/effect @e minecraft:levitation 10 127" (this will launch all mobs in the air so be careful when using this with mobs you don't want to kill)
At a certain hight (around y 600-800) all the mobs become invisible.
they reappear as they fall below around y 300.
