for some reason after i updated to winows 8.1 i could not get on to minecraft

What I expected to happen was...:
to click play and go to mc menu

What actually happened was...:
it kept crashing after I presed play

Steps to Reproduce:
1. I went to where it has profiles
2. clicked the big "play" button
3. it loaded but then it sowed a crash report
