right mouse does not work with Mac OS 10.10.3

I recently upgraded my 13" MacBook Air to MacOS 10.10.3. I had previously been able to play minecraft. When I tried to open Minecraft, I was told to install an old version of Java, which I did. However, when I enter a world, the right mouse button does not function. I tried 3 mice and the track pad. I tried restarting the computer, reinstalling the Minecraft launcher, installing the latest version of Java, and no change.

Help!
