Whenever I try to join a server in any 1.7( EX 1.7.2), right after it says logging in, it crashes. When i switch to 1.8 on the same server, it works fine

When this questionnaire asks for version, there is no 1.7 option, only 1.8.7, so please not that the bug happens in 1.7, and I just put 1.8.7 cause I needed to fill in that area.
Whenever I join a server in these versions, the game crashes before I can join.
