TNT ignition lighting glitch in the end/nether

When igniting TNT in the end, it will appear to turn black, and remaining black until right before it explodes, at which point it will pulse black and white.

Please see the following graphics below: the first being the nether, the second the overworld, and the last the end. In both the overworld and nether, the TNT renders as expected when ignited, but in the end it is black.
