Minecraft crashes while loading worlds

What I expected to happen was...:
Minecraft to open and be playable

What actually happened was...:
Crashes every time it is opened

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Minecraft
2. Click on "Play offline"
3. Try to open or create a new world
4. It begins loading the terrain
5. It crashes
