Chunks flash or disappear completely

Whenever I play Minecraft some chunks flash or disappear, sometimes they come back sometimes they don't. It's quite annoying when I can't see where I'm walking.

I am using the Forge mod and Pixelmon. I originally had optifine installed but I uninstalled it as I read that it could cause the problem.

I have given minecraft more access to my RAM and I have played with the video options and nothing seems to work. I and also uninstalled and reinstalled both mods to see if that was the problem, but it wasn't.
