Sometimes clicking right quickly on something ill make that item disappear even if it's not edible

While I'm holding a rope I accidentally right clicked and the rope vanish! I think it dropped from my hand. So I run around to find my rope. But it is gone
(Under 5 minutes!) So I need to ask: Is rope edible?
