Out of Memory

I can't get into Minecraft because it says that I don't have enough RAM to play it. But I cleared my whole laptop for more memory space. I also re downloaded the app and restarted my laptop but it still says I don't have RAM. Please help me with this, I don't know what to do. This has been going on since November 2014.
