Leads on cat/dogs thats attached to fence post breaks away when player goes away

using creative mode i spawn ocelot and wolfs to tame for protecting my house
after taming them i spawn some lead to tie the pets to fence post and i changed back to survivor to do some mining.
halfway through my cat teleported to me, so i went back to check the leads that was suppose to be tied to the fence post were broken laying on the ground. this happened a few times so it became kinda annoying.
