Minecraft will not open and continues to load.

Once Minecraft is downloaded, Minecraft Launcher 1.6.11 comes up and its states at the bottom " Loading... " You can not select it and it never does load. Minecraft loads but never actually opens or brings me to the Minecraft home screen. Please help me, Daliso Chitulangoma
