Crash upon singleplayer world loading / creating

Minecraft crashes when attempting to load or create any singleplayer world

What I expected to happen was...:
I expected minecraft to load the world after clicking load world

What actually happened was...:
Minecraft gets stuck on the loading world screen, then crashes and brings up the launcher. (crashes)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch minecraft
2. Go to worlds, select world, click load world
3. Wait
Also, this same error occurs using modpacks from lauchers such as Resontant Rise 3 (ATL) and other modpacks.
There is NO MODS installed.
Problem still occurs with my anti virus (mcafee) uninstalled, and there is no other anti virus on the computer.
