Typing in a text box then altering screen orientation deletes the text

What I expected to happen was...:
The text wouldnt delete

What actually happened was...:
The text disappeared

Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to the main menu
2. go onto multiplayer and select "Direct connect"
3. type text and then press F11
4. Youll notice that the text has disappeared

PS: It works with any text box. (Multiplayer chat etc..)
