System crashes after pressing play

Bought Minecraft yesterday, it has not worked once. It does not launch after pressing play, it only crashes.

What I expected was for my daughter to be able to use the game after it was bought and for me to get my money's worth.

What actually happens is that it crashes seconds after pressing play and she has not used it once.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open Minecraft
2. press play
3. crashes
