Minecraft cannot connect to ANY server

Everytime I go to access any 24/7 minecraft server it says 'cant connect to server' If i go to direct connect I get this very short generic error: java.lang.NullPointerException: group. This has been going on for 2 days now. And I have tried several methods in fixing it.
