Minecraft crashes upon opening multiplayer world

I updated to the most recent pre-release and then tried to join a server that was 1.8.1. I then crashed. So I changed the version back to 1.8.1 and tried to join the server again. Again it crashed. And this happens for every server that I try to join. I was running 1.8.1 just fine before this happened.
