Water texture glitches?

Hi! im having a issue with my Minecraft account. I am a moderator on a developing server and one of our gateways to get to the area I currently run is part water so whenever i go in the water it turns the texture to a grey color when i go in the water. but the weird thing is its not grey when i look at it and im not in it it doesn't look grey. So ill post some pictures of it below. (im using 1.7.10 its not letting me select that so i had to choose 1.8)
