I cant see what im typing

This is a big problem on my mc. I type something but I cant see it. then I hit enter and it shows up on the chat. its really annoying. please fix. For example if I want to say "hello" in chat I type "hello" but I cant see what im typing. then I hit enter and it shows up. I dont have F1 on. This is a bug in my mc. This was not an issue on any other versions of minecraft.
