Death by Bat

When I was sprinting to get through a cave faster, I ran smack dab into a bat, was shoved into a wall, and lost a heart of damage. No dangerous /hostile mobs could have been around, as I was on peaceful. Could running into the bat have caused me to take suffocation damage from the wall?
