When a hopper is connected to a chest if you put a stack of any block into the hopper then opened the chest it will show the ho pper feeding the blocks into the c hest but when you open the chest it the hopper won't add to the stack in the chest

When putting a stack of any block into a hopper the hopper feeds it to the chest but when you open the chest it shows the block being put into the chest but then it stops but when you shut the chest it continues

What I expected to happen was...:
Describe what you thought should happen here. I though what should happened was when you open the chest you can see the hopper feeding the blocks into the chest

What actually happened was...:
Describe what happened here. The hopper was feeding the blocks into the chest but when I opened the chest it stopped feeding it through
