F11/fullscreen does not work properly on Linux Mint

What I expected to happen was...:
Normal full screen via F11 or Options>Video Settings>Fullscreen

What actually happened was...:
When full screened the center of the game/crosshairs moves to the far right of the screen resulting the game being cut in half

or the screen goes blank only showing the desktop background

Steps to Reproduce:
1. F11 or Options>Video Settings>Fullscreen
