Hoppers dont seem to work

Hoppers don't work anymore as they should. When putting items into them they act as if they were chests, with or without redstone powering o activation. I placed hoppers in the chest configuration, hopper-to-hopper, and a redstone clock. This was done at a normal superflat world.
