minecraft says I am out of memory and I am not.

Put the summary of the bug you're having here...minecraft won't load, says I am low on memory. I am not.

What I expected to happen was...:
I expected Minecraft to open.

What actually happened was...:
I got a page that said my memory was to low and suggested "fixes." I tried these to no effect.
