Visual Glitch involving Redstone

What I expected to happen:

• Redstone should not pass the TNT as it's an opaque block
• Lamp should not light
• TNT should not ignite

What actually happened:

• Redstone did pass through, despite there being an opaque block
• Redstone signal is recoverable, and was used to light the lamp
• TNT did not ignite
• Despite being on, no visible connection was established
