Smelting gold crashes the game (Minecraft PE iPhone 6+ ios8)

Jira for iPhone is glitchy so I'm not sure this is posting to the PE section. Sorry if this isn't the right place. Version 0.10.4 alpha

I finished mining some gold ore in survival mode, I had about 5 or 7 blocks. Went back to my underground house placed all blocks in a furnace, gave it some coal, moved on to next furnace. I had 25ish iron ore blocks so I put them in that furnace, gave it some coal, then went to check on the gold.
One block had almost finished, then the game crashed.
when I loaded it back up, my iron was still in the furnace, but the gold – and gold ore-- were gone.
they just disappeared.
It was a bummer.
I looked around the room, in all of my containers and stuff, nothing.
It's been glitchy these last few days on all the different games.
