"the brewing decision"

when i tried to make some potions, i noticed that i can't place the redstone and the glowstone on the same potion. for example, i have to decide if i want a strenth (i am not so good at english) potion with 8 minutes of tier 1 or a tier 2 with 1:30 of time.
