Huge hole to void - 1 chunk?

Loaded my game this morning and a huge chunk level hole right down to the void has appeared and wiped out the my whole caving system - including numerous redstone creations/machines, grinders, chests, etc.

Not particular happy. Not sure if this is a new bug or something else?

Please tell me this is something that can be fixed?
