Game Crashes/freezes when trying to load world/Realm.

When I start the game, it loads just fine and I start off in full-screen. When I click on either Singleplayer or Multiplayer, the game will either freeze or Java will crash.

Temporary fix:

How I've gotten around this is changing the full-screen. When I start the game, I have to go into "settings" and change it to windowed mode, then quit the game (or else it will still crash/freeze) and start Minecraft up again. When I begin again in windowed mode, everything works just fine. I can start a Singleplayer or Multiplayer game (including a Realm) just fine and switch to full-screen mode in-game and it will still work.
