Weird Glitch Issues

I just finished update my Minecraft to the latest version which is 1.8.1 a few days ago, but never had a chance to play it just yet. Today, I had a lot of free time decided to play the latest version. It start all well, but when I started to play Singleplayer in Survival Mode, at first it went good when suddenly, disaster strikes. I don`t even know how to describe it. The ground suddenly became invisible and I could see the tunnel systems, abandoned mineshafts underneath for almost 15 seconds. These kept recurring to me around every 5-6 minutes. Sorry, but I don`t even know how to recreate the problem/bug. It just keeps happening.
