"Unable to locate sign at x y z"

Whenever I try to log onto my Vanilla 1.8 server i see a duplicate of myself and get spammed with the message "Unable to locate sign at "X" "Y" "Z""
and then it claims my user leaves the server, and I am left unable to break blocks, open chests, etc. I have done research into this and all I can find is that it is a client side error and to contact Mojang, extremely important, this is keeping me from using a server I pay for, please help asap
