Game crashing with difficulty changing

My game has been crashing on the singe player survival worlds, but only when I try to change the game mode. It is perfectly fine until then, but as soon as I try to change it, the game crashes. It seems to crash the whole launcher as well, because Im not getting the chance to submit any of the crash reports.
