SocketTimeoutException

When I open the launcher it asks me to type my username and password ad when I do it says. Sorry, but we couldn't connect to our servers. Please make sure you are online and minecraft is not blocked.
(sockettimeoutexception: read timed out)

This has been happening for roughly 2 weeks
